We will learn in our Yurt, eat from the garden on our land and play in the crystal clear river that runs through it. We will begin our practice early at the auspicious hours to deepen our awareness of the Divine all around us. We will delight in the sun of the day as we learn the techniques and tools to teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga Classes, then we will bask in warmth of the bonfire under the tremendous stars at night as we connect with the cycles of the Moon(this is a full moon phase). Living, Breathing, Swimming, Eating, Practicing in the Divine nature (Shiva) that manifests all of us (Shakti). Exploring your relationship with yourself through the elements of nature, inside and out, is an experience that you will remember for a lifetime.
The Chandra Program will have a focus on the Divine Feminine: Saraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati, Durga, Kali and Shakti, the Supreme Goddess.
The Receptive Aspects of the Practice: Concentration (Dhrana), Meditation (Dhyana), Gift of Bliss (Samadhi). We will practice Concentration with Yantra Painting, and Meditation including Yogic Sleep (Nidra), Visualization and Affirmation.
You will have an experiential understanding of the Energy centers in the body (Chakras), Individual Constitutions (Doshas), and the Levels of consciousness (Koshas).
This program will be focusing on bringing flow into the more receptive postures. Teaching Vinyasa in a way that can support slowing down, and grounding out. We will study History and Philosophy, Traditions, Mantra and Kirtan, Tantra and Ashtanga.
There will be lectures on Anatomy and Physiology, Special Populations, and Contra-indications.
This program offers a focus on food, gardening, nutrition and Yogic practices that bring us back into connection with Mama Earth. This program includes time working in the garden (Seva), participating in food preparation for the community (Sangha), and camp projects that connect us to the elements and make us more human BE-ings. We will conduct a fire ceremony, learning about using all of the elements in our daily practices, rituals, ceremonies and on our Altars.
This is a program for the outdoor enthusiast or those who are interested in exploring their more earthy side. This is primarily an outdoor program. Our kitchen is outside, we dine together outside. Our only shelter is the Yurt we will be studying and practicing in. We recommend camping with us on-site. You will need to bring your own tent and sleeping gear, check the list below. Or, if you need to sleep in more structured shelter and attend the training during the day, you may opt to stay in a Garberville Hotel, please check the list below.
This unique location offers an experience most people haven’t ventured far enough into northern Ca to have. Give yourself a magnificent gift and practice living yoga with us here in the Pacific Northwest in Humboldt County at One Yoga Life.
